Adams/Weld School District 27J

 
General Information: Adams/Weld School District 27J, Commonly referred to as “School District 27J”, provides public education services from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, as well as various community education programs. The District encompasses 215 square miles and provides services to over 14,000 students in three counties (i.e. Adams, Weld and Broomfield). The District is comprised of 10 elementary schools, 4 middle schools, 2 high schools, 1 alternative school and 5 charter schools.
 
District Oversight: The seven-member Board of Education (elected by District residents and property owners) meets monthly to review and approve the operation and finances of the District.
 
Property Tax Usage: Property taxes collected by the District are used to fund the general operations of the District. Approximately one-third of the District’s operations are funded through property taxes.
